Stanhope, Phase One

This new local centre forms part of phase one of the Stanhope Regeneration Project, which has an overall contract value for Denne of more than £66m.


The new local centre comprises pub/restaurant, library, community centre and a selection of shops. These include a convenience store, take-away-food, hairdresser and dry cleaners at ground level. In addition there are 59 affordable flats and 29 affordable houses for Moat Homes, and 21 flats and 12 houses for private sale for Gleeson Homes. All new build properties will achieve EcoHomes ‘Very Good’.


The team for this project were shortlisted for the Community Involvement Award at the Public Private Finance Awards 2008.


As part of the regeneration scheme, Denne Construction has set up a site-based Skills Centre to manage training and employment activities. This Skills Centre has been accredited by the National Skills Academy for Construction and is the first accredited centre on a housing regeneration scheme in the UK.
