This project delivered by the Leadbitter Group comprised the construction of approximately 11,500m2 of teaching and ancillary accommodation for use as a new college at Windmill Avenue, Kettering.
Combining St Mary’s campus and Windmill Avenue campus into one, the new building was constructed behind the existing campus building at Windmill Avenue in Kettering, with the Institute operating as normal throughout the duration of the works.
The landmark building comprises an administration wing, three storey arts block, IT suites, and a multi-purpose sports hall which utilises the latest sports equipment and includes four badminton courts and a basketball or five-a-side football pitch. A tiered 170 seat performance centre is also included, together with an integrated dance studio, hair and beauty salon and a fitness suite. Other facilities include teaching facilities for special need students. All these facilities can be accessed via a central atrium, which houses a cafeteria and lifts.
