Denne is to build 28 new homes on the edge of the historical village of Headcorn in Kent.
The project, which will be built over two sites on Grigg Lane and Knights Way, will provide ten two-bedroom and 18 three-bedroom houses for local people. The construction of this much needed, affordable rural housing represents the major part of a project set up between Cascade Partnerships (part of the Kitewood Group), Golding Homes, the local doctors and the local nursery. Consent also exists for a new Headcorn Doctors Surgery and Day Nursery.
Golding Homes is a not-for-profit Housing Association based in Kent, which owns and manages more than 6,500 properties in the area. The new affordable rent homes will all be available through the Kent Homechoice scheme.
Denne have started work on the £3m project and, due to the historic and rural nature of the site, special attention has been given to the preservation of wildlife habitats. The homes will involve timber frame construction and will be built to Code for Sustainable Homes level 3.
Graham Brown, Managing Director, Denne said: “We are very much looking forward to starting work on this project in conjunction with Golding Homes in the beautiful village of Headcorn. We hope that this can be the start of a long relationship with Golding Homes and are delighted that these high quality houses will provide much needed homes for local people.”
