Denne have signed the contract to regenerate Aylesbury’s former Territorial Army (TA) site. This major new community development of 94 new homes in Oxford Road is designed to support sustainable lifestyles and reduce the environmental impact of construction. The scheme is the flagship project of the HCA’s Design for Manufacture competition.
This regeneration, a joint venture between Denne, Thames Valley Housing Association and the Homes and Communities Agency, is to be called the Serpentine development and will be formed of a continuous curved building of 94 town houses and apartment buildings.
The homes, ranging from one bedroom flats to four bedroom houses, will be available through a combination of affordable rent, shared ownership and private sales, and will be of a timber frame construction. The mixed sizes and tenures of the new homes will caterfor a variety of users from first time buyers and young families, to the over 55s. This high quality and highly sustainable development is designed to help integrate this housing into the urban fabric of Aylesbury whilst providing much-needed housing to help support the town’s growth.
