Leadbitter/Denne

Leadbitter/Denne has been part of the Bouygues group since 2011. During this time, Leadbitter/Denne has developed strong links with the wider Group, ensuring that it combines the strengths of an established regional contractor with the covenant strength and technical expertise that the Bouygues Group has to offer.

The Bouygues acquisitions of Warings (2007) Denne/Leadbitter (2011) and Thomas Vale in 2012, have given Bouygues UK an unparalleled combination of skills, expertise and reach across the country, delivering the benefits of its global expertise with local knowledge.

As Bouygues UK shapes its construction and development business to best serve the UK market, we also recognise the need to increase the visibility of the Bouygues UK business and brand across the regions.

This will mean, as of September 30th 2014, the Leadbitter/Denne website will be transferred to the centralised corporate Bouygues UK website.

Apprenticeship opportunities for Central Chelmsford

Denne Construction is working with Genesis Housing Association on the development of residential properties on the former Anglia Ruskin University site in the centre of Chelmsford. As part of the project we are seeking to arrange apprenticeship placements with a number of our trade contractors who will be working on this site.

These opportunities are in:

  • Scaffolding
  • Bricklaying
  • Carpentry
  • Painting & decorating

An apprenticeship will generally be for a two year duration and will involve a mixture of college-based training and on-the-job training while working. The apprenticeship will be with a specialist trade contractor working on the site. During the course of the apprenticeship the apprentice will be required to travel and work on various other sites in the Essex and London areas.

Terms and conditions will be in line with current industry practice and will be determined by the individual employer taking into account any relevant experience and age of the individual. As a minimum these will be in accordance with Minimum apprenticeship wage regulations. Please see details below:

https://www.gov.uk/apprenticeships-guide/pay-and-holidays

These opportunities are open to people of any age with preference given to people living in the Chelmsford area.

Denne will be responsible for assessing the suitability of candidates applying for these positions. In the first instance you should send a CV and covering letter setting out your interest in the apprenticeship position to Zen at the following email address:

Zenab.Mumtaz@Denne.co.uk

Suitable candidates will then be invited to attend a briefing session in Chelmsford and will be provided with support to complete the apprenticeship assessment test. Interviews and work trials will then be arranged with the appropriate employer for those who are considered suitable.

Guidance for Candidates:

We will expect a successful candidate to be able to demonstrate a real interest in the chosen area, a strong work ethic, and evidence of dedication to personal development. Please note that work on sites generally start between 7.30am and 8.00am. Apprentices will be expected to play a full part working in a team of specialist trade contractors.
