The Kent Education Business Partnership recognised our work in supporting schools in the Thanet area with a Platinum Employers Award. This support has included taking work experience placements on our projects for 15 year old students from 5 schools in the area, delivering workshops within the schools and at the company’s site-based skills centre, and supporting curriculum events such as the Thanet SkillsFest and Business of Enterprise.
Job Centre Plus Awards
Denne have been awarded the Youth Employment Award as part of the JobCentre Plus Awards 2010. Denne’s site-based skills centre has been responsible for arranging 10 employment opportunities for local unemployed young people. These have been arranged with the Company’s trade contractors and have resulted in 9 of these placements taking up apprenticeships. The judges were so impressed with our work that we were judged as overall winners receiving the Best Employer Award for the South East.
Building Magazine Award
As part of the Leadbitter Group, we have recently been the winner of Building Magazine Award for 2009 ‘Major Contractor of The Year’.
Excellence in Recycling Awards
As part of our ISO140001 EMS we have developed a range of Site Waste Management Procedures. Through these procedures we achieved 87% recycling at One Brighton and won the 2009 “Excellence in Recycling” award. This was for our continued partnership and work with Greater London Waste Disposal in reducing waste and increasing recycling on site in order to reduce our impact on the environment.
Housing Forum Demonstration Project Status
The National Skills Academy has recently received Constructing Excellence Housing Forum Demonstration Project status.
Special Recognition Award
We won a Special Recognition Award at the ‘Creating the Futures Awards 2008’ ceremony for our One Brighton development based on the outstanding vision and commitment to managing environmental and sustainable issues.
This highly sustainable project is based on the concept of creating high quality and well-built homes, shops and offices, with real community spirit as well as a place that allows people to live an affordable and ‘green’ lifestyle.
